Hi, I’m Paul Guilfoyle, a Certified Mind Factor performance coach trained under Dr Karl Morris, one of  Europe’s leading mental game performance coaches.

It’s no secret that Karl has worked with hundreds of Tour Players, Major winners including the likes of Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen, as well as having helped thousands of club golfers improve and ultimately enjoy the game more.

Personally I struggled for years with my own golf game. Then I discovered a new understanding in psychology, a cutting- edge approach to transformation which helps take back control of  emotions, beat stress and develop bulletproof confidence quicker, easier and effectively.

To learn exactly how I transformed my own golf game…and how I can help YOU  do the same, contact me today. This is not a sales call and there’s no obligation on either side.  I’ll ask where you currently are with your game and find out what if anything, might be holding you back from achieving whatever you want from the game. I’ll  explain some simple mental approach techniques and how they can result in lasting improvement.

Mind Factor coaching is not one size fits all. It’s not concerned with teaching you “the way” but rather helping  you uncover “your way” to fulfilling your potential.

I help amateur golfers gain more confidence and consistency enabling them to shoot lower scores, drop their handicap and enjoy golf more. All without having to change their swing. The focus of my coaching is primarily to help golfers with the mental side of the game. But because for many players including myself golf represents a metaphor for life, occasionally I find myself working confidentially with golfers to help solve business or career headaches as well as important personal life issues.

Many people experience  a transformation that impacts not only their golf for the better but provides lower stress and anxiety coupled with the development of a bullet proof emotional resilience so they can be calm, confident and powerful, no matter what challenges they face on the golf course, in business or in everyday life.

What can you hope to gain from this approach to mind coaching?

How would it be if you were to start enjoying your golf game, your business or even the game of life itself much more than you might ever have imagined possible?

What if you could be instantly guided towards reaching your full potential?

How would it feel to become as good as you’re capable of being with the innate talent you already have available?

What could be possible?

Whatever the goal, I aim to create a shift in people, helping them eliminate challenges and fears that prevent the mind interfering with performance and empowering them to reach their full potential.

There are some misconceptions surrounding Mind Coaching.

For instance many amateur golfers seem to believe that mind coaching is only for Tour Pros.

They believe they need to work continually and exclusively on their swing, and when they’ve perfected that, they’ll start to work on the mental aspects of the game. As a result they spend too much of their time with their attention on the very things they can’t possibly improve and that are useless to enhancing their performance.

That’s probably one of the major reasons despite all the advances in technology over the last 20 or so years that the average handicap has remained stuck at around 16.

If we continue to do the things we’ve always done don’t be surprised when we continue to get the results we’ve always got.

So perhaps it’s time to look at some things a little differently.

You may even have heard about some of the things we’ll  talk about yet you’ll probably agree there’s a big difference between knowing something and actually doing it?

If you’ve ever thought certain feelings might be holding you back, or suffer from the common misunderstanding of where all human feelings really come from, and what determines the human experience, you can benefit enormously from this style of coaching.

Worry, anxiety, stress, tension, unease, and pressure are all different forms of psychological fear which stem from insecure thoughts about the future.

For golfers and business owners these can take the form of worrying about results. In golf terms worry about what if I hit it in the trees, what if I hit it out of bounds, in the bunker, the water, lose it in the rough!

Thinking this or that will ruin my score and lead to yet another bad day on the golf course.

Do you perhaps experience other common feelings or emotional states such as anger, regret, sadness, guilt, resentment, bitterness, disappointment, and holding onto grievances. These are associated with past events, for example a missed short putt, losing a ball, making a double or treble bogey or throwing away the lead.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if we were to lose our temper getting angry about a golf shot we are yet to hit?

When we’re thinking in the past or getting ahead of ourselves into the future our Attention is nowhere near where it needs to be to perform at our best.

Without change, without transformation all human beings will simply continue on towards their own personal default future.

The golfer, the business owner, the person, all must transform. To achieve any improvement change is necessary.

In a good way!

Please allow me to explain a little about my background and why I know I can help.

I started playing golf as a 10 year old and considered turning Pro at 18. Instead I headed off to University  to get a degree under my belt. This would be something to fall back on in case things didn’t work out as planned. When you have something to fall back on don’t be surprised when you fall back!

On graduating, like many of my peers I had no idea what I really wanted to do. I joined the ranks of a  different type of Pro.

I trained and qualified as a chartered accountant and started working very long hours in the City of London. Almost inevitably my golf game fell apart.

I’ve built my own business, worked for myself as a consultant and over more than 35 years gained valuable business experience.

I’ve found that many small business owners become trapped working in their business. Often they work the longest hours unable to take holiday and sometimes even end up as the lowest paid out of any of the people they employ! Whereas the business should be a vehicle for providing them with everything they want in life it often becomes more like a millstone around their neck. It often seems that the business controls them rather than the other way round.

People tell me from the outside I appear calm and pretty laid back but for much of my adult life I’ve battled against stress, worry, and anxiety. So I’ve always had a very keen interest in dealing with these issues in business and in life in general.

Golf for me has always been a metaphor for life. I’ve struggled along the way with ailments common to the experience of many golfers. I’ve suffered from chipping yips, getting very down on myself during a round of golf, and for a long time after a poor round, engaging in negative self-talk. For many golfers if they had a caddie who talked to them in the same way they talk to themselves they’d be left with no option other than to sack them.

I stopped wanting to go out to play. This was a game I’d loved so much and yet I  began to hate the game and what (I thought at the time) it was doing to me. Why would any sane person put themselves through this kind of torture?

I came very close to giving the game up  altogether. When my handicap crept up to 7  it dawned on me that despite the advanced technology, all my years of experience and still being physically fit I was a worse golfer than I had been at the age of 13. I was finding the game utterly frustrating.

Perhaps the only thing that kept me playing was the pleasure I had playing competitive and social golf with my son. I’m so glad I woke up in time to understand that I must set a better example than as Fred Shoemaker puts it “ the two shots from crazy” golfer I’d become.

Mind Factor Golf Coaching with Karl Morris

Even as a boy golfer I’ve always had a very keen interest in how the mind affects performance.

In 2018 I decided to formally train and qualify as a certified coach under the Mind Factor brand of Karl Morris.

I discovered how to achieve more in less time. How I could lower my score without changing my swing. How to nail drives on the course, hole out clutch putts on the greens, how to deal with first tee nerves and stop my mind getting in the way of going low and keeping a good score going.

I no longer go to pieces just because I have a score card in my hand.

Most golfers approaching retirement look forward to playing more so they can improve. It comes as a bitter blow when they find as most do, that playing more golf makes them a worse golfer and as a result a much more frustrated one at that.

But it doesn’t have to be this way!

I  won my Club’s scratch match play championship at the age of 60.

I can say without doubt it’s not my ageing body that’s made the difference to my game! Clearly my golf game is no longer based on power and flexibility. I need a different kind of edge. One that is available to golfers of all ages and skill levels, one that can have a huge beneficial impact on their performance once they have someone point them in the right direction.

I’ve recently been playing much better golf than I have for years, but not only that I’m absolutely loving the game again. I’ve continued to learn and develop my skills for coaching golfers and get a tremendous buzz from witnessing them enjoying the game more as well as lower their scores.

Seeing the immediate impact my coaching can have on golfers, where for instance their playing partners see them as a different ( and much improved  ) player after only a few weeks coaching, I know that helping golfers achieve this type of transformation is what I was meant to do. That’s tremendously satisfying.

And that’s what I want for you today.

Contact me and we’ll arrange a mutually convenient time for us to have a totally FREE, friendly  conversation. I’ll explain how some simple mental approach techniques can result in a lasting improvement to your game.

You could be well on your way to reaching your full potential, lowering your score and enjoying the game much more.

There’s no commitment whatsoever on your part so if all you’d like to do is run a few questions past me that’s absolutely fine.

And if like me you see golf or sport in general as a metaphor for life you could even use this new understanding, as many others have, to transform your business or career and personal life for the better.

Seriously, today can be a day that you look back on and think…

“Wow…that’s when everything changed…”

Or it can just be just another day… When nothing changes. And in the future, you might wonder

“What if…”

So here’s what I suggest…

If you have a niggling feeling that your golf  could be better, in any or all areas, just give this a go.

There is no catch.

My objective is to positively impact the lives of as many golfers as possible guiding you to discover not “the way” but your way of reaching your full potential.

Of course, I also offer a package of paid coaching sessions and mentoring. I know that when people experience how much I can help some people want to continue talking with me on a paying basis. But please be assured you are under no obligation and if you believe my coaching is not for you, for whatever reason, then that’s no problem whatsoever. You will never be put under any kind of sales pressure.

In fact the only way you can pay for coaching with me is by going through an application process to make sure we’re a good fit.

You are committing to nothing. There are no tricks. No smoke and mirrors.

I WANT change for you. In a good way. Forever. I’ve discovered this is what I’m called here to do.

Golf and perhaps even life in general  could change permanently and you will enjoy the benefits forever.

I promise that, like thousands of people around the world, you’ll be blown away when this understanding is shared with you. Discover what you are REALLY capable of…

Take the time right now to get in touch. If you don’t do so now we all know how life has a habit of getting in the way, and the opportunity for you to become as good as you’re capable of becoming, whilst gaining maximum enjoyment, may be lost forever.

So go ahead and email me now. Let me know where in the world you’re based and tell me a little about your golf game. I’ll respond with a link to my calendar so you can book a slot for a free call at a time that suits you best.
